In our culture, the phrase, “It’s better to give than receive,” rings contrary to what we absorb from our surroundings. In fact, one may say that the theme of our culture is to gain as much as you can because your value and worth can be found there. When our lives truly embody what it looks like to be generous in all things, only then can we begin to understand what “It’s better to give than receive,” means.
